New Cheltenham 'Ghost Pub' Walks & Talks
Not supernatural * but where pubs of the past used to be located . . . When . . . And what’s there now!
The towns licenced premises are a much-neglected part of its social history and cultural heritage . . . from the swanky wine vaults patronised by fashionable Regency visitors here to ‘take the waters’ and to ‘see and be seen’ to the impoverished back street boozers of the towns working class areas and slums . . . Yes, Cheltenham did have them!
Through extensive research I have identified and located MANY HUNDREDS of beer houses, cider houses, inns, taverns, clubs, hotels, nightclubs etc all across Cheltenham, Charlton Kings and Prestbury *(which does include ghosts).
Where would you like to explore?
I have developed 21 walks which I would like to get published – I am raising funds towards the cost . . . BUT YOU JUST PAY A CASH DONATION AT THE END – whatever you think it is worth. I can’t say fairer than that now, can I?

I have been a resident of Cheltenham for over 45 years and will tailor your walk to suit what you want to see and hear about.
As a young man I trained as an actor in London (at the same drama school, though long before, Tom Hardy).
I love meeting and interacting with people. One year I played Father Christmas at Cavendish House.
I worked for UCAS for 20 years interacting with and presenting for:
● Students and their parents/guardians
● Teachers and careers staff
● University and college staff
● International agents
● Many others
I travelled throughout the UK and Ireland, and into Europe – even as far as Hong Kong, to share information and training, ending up as a Professional Development Executive … and everyone knew me by my ties!
Although I dropped out of university on my first attempt, I went back in my mid-30s as a mature student/return learner and achieved a 1st class honours BA in Film Studies in 1999. And even though I wasn’t studying English Literature, while there, I was twice a Runner Up for the T.S. Eliot Poetry Prize.
I love finding out about my home town and the people who have lived here and visited – the famous, fashionable and wealthy…but also the poor, the workers, the unsung. Like every town, there is more than one side to Cheltenham.
I would very much like to share some of what I know with you.
